What a stupid way to ruin what was looking like a cool feature. Like other people have said, I could have seen paying a "Membership Fee" of some sort to the Brawler's Guild, but for the only option to get it being either buying it off of the over priced BMAH or hoping you run across someone selling invites (And that's assuming that you don't just get X number of invites to give out, or else it'll end up being just as bad as the BMAH) is just horrible. I'm not big into PvP, I don't really raid, so I see next to nothing that interests me in Patch 5.1 as of now. Brawler's Guild was it, and if Blizz goes this route, it's just one more dumb decision IMO that's driving me not just out of WoW, but away from them as a company as a whole.
Maybe they're taking rule 1 a little too seriously.
I have a hard time believing that Blizzard would add a significant amount of new content to the game and then limit the number of players who get to see it. That's pretty much the opposite of their current "more accessibility" trend. I can see them staggering access, however - say, by making it really expensive to get in on day 1, but cheaper and easier as time passes. If it helps drain some gold from the economy, all the better. It all depends on how these invitations actually work. If a single invitation is good for an entire guild, for example, it won't take long for everybody to get one. First batch or two will probably be contested; after that anybody will be able to buy one or get invited by their guild. If the invites are only good for a handful of people, the process will simply take longer. Either way I doubt anybody will be permanently locked out.

Pet battles aren't that expensive and hard to get by, BY FAR.
Blizzard is smart. These fights are set up so that only one player can do them at a time. When the patch launches, EVERYONE will want to do them. There simply has to be some type of mechanism that slows down access... and well.. they decided to make that access a gold-sink.No matter what, there would have been something that would prevent you from doing the fights the first 3 days.. if not the gold-sink, then it would be a 300 person queue. Think about that.. if everyone had access to fight club the first day, the queue would be hours long and you would have to sit in there and watch 100s of other fights.TLDR.. there has to be a gating mechanism because of the ´1 fight at a time´ thing. They chose a gold sink. The other important part is that there really is no rewards for this thing... if you can do it the first day, or the second week it really doesn´t matter except for one achievement. Yeah, it is a really cool new feature, but there are other cool things coming with the patch that can keep you entertained for a week.. and I guarantee after 1 week everyone will easily be able to get an invite for almost nothing. We also do not know if there will be other ways to earn an invitation. I honestly think the achievement where you have to kill one of each race of rare spawns, or even the one to kill every single rare spawn would be appropriate. There really is not enough information yet to cry about this. Plus the fact that there is no progression involved... besides one acheivement, it is no big deal if you have to wait a week to get in.
Just to point out, on Twitter Bashiok said that each person that wins an invite from the BMAH will have 10 gift invites to give out. When asked about how much he thinks it will cost to buy an invite from another player.´That's up to the bidders. 10 per day, and them having 10 gift invites. I imagine they'll be quite pricey the first month or so.´
depending on how many people you can invite into the guild once your in, it sounds like the best way to get in is get a group together pool your money it get one in the keep on inviting until you are all in....
Not your guild member.. a member of the brawlers guild, meaning an npc.
Stuff like this is what it killing WoW. How to **** do Blizzard expect people to cough up so much gold to use an In-Game feature!. This is insane!. For weeks I have been checking WoWhead looking at updates on the Brawlers Guild and looking forward to it but now this crap!. Bravo Blizzard bravo...
WoW is dead to me now, what happened to "Letting everyone see content" blizz might aswell just remove LFR, buff normal mode's difficulty so only the most skilled of raiders can down even the first boss, make heroic practically impossible and make you have to pay 50k as an "Attunement" quest to get to each boss, i hated pandaria enough already, the brawlers guild was the one thing i was looking forward to (I love soloing hard bosses without competition from other players) and now i can't afford to do it, good going blizzard.Good going.
