This mighty stone giant stands still at the base of the bridgehead @ 62,5-63,5; Red Stone Run area. Like other rare elites on the island, it has a fixed HP of 218mil that does not increase by the number of players who kill it. No faction tag either, you're free to join the opposite faction's fight. It has the longest respawn time above all other rare creatures on the isle around ~24 hrs.

Abilities:

Stomp - A 4x10yd frontal cone AoE that is meant to be his autoattack. Melee stay behind him!
Boulder --> Boulder - Throwing rocks toward ranged players.
Frenzy --> Exhaustion - Turns red, continuously stomping around then self-stunned for 10 sec.

On the first look the fight may seem kinda hard but as you advance you'll see its fairly easy. Get someone who can maintain the aggro all the time (tank spec not necessary) and handle the abilities above. The aggro guy needs to move A LOT in and out front of him to avoid the frontal Stomps, also he needs to keep facing him one direction or at most slowly moving around so the melee won't be killed by Stomps from accident turnings. Ranged / heals need to run out from boulders really fast and pretty much that's it. (You may be able to skip boulders completely if everyone stay behind the boss in melee range, but maybe there's a minimal amount of players who need to be in range, we didn't try it at all.)
Depends on classes you can 2-man or even solo this guy but if you don't want to spend an hour of uninterrupted concentration you better bring some comrades.

The respawn timer on this guy seems -extremely- high, like "once a day" high.

He also drops ~1700 Timeless Coins now.

I've managed to kill all the other rares except this one on the first day of the 5.4.0. Still this one eludes me. I have gathered so far that he yells when he spawns. I don't know weather it's isle wide or just on a smaller area. The respawn timer seams clearly too long compared to all the others and is at least over 16 hours long.
I don't get why though. It's not like this particular rare gives anything special nor unique. It's not like it gives nice gear either.
I simply don't get it.

Edit: Could possibly only spawn when one of the 3 Eroded Cliffdweller are dead and then spawn in their stead. This is still undocumented but I have 2 different witnesses saying that when they relogged after the 5AM server reboot, all rares were alive except this one. Which strongly indicates that this one doesn't spawn by natural ways. I can't be sure though. I have been killing the 3 giants relentlessly for over 4hours now and still nothing.

Edit2: I made a ticket and the GM told me that:

This rare does pop and there are no issues about that.
However he may or may not have a spawn timer unlike regular rare creatures.

Which would strongly imply that killing Eroded Cliffdweller is the way to go about this one.

This rare is almost never seen. The reason being is that it has a chance to spawn in place of one of the other rock giants when they are killed. The problem is, most people just run by the non-rare rock giants since they are rather annoying and difficult.

It is the same mechanism as the crane, frog, turtle and crab. You kill the normal versions until the rare spawns in its place. You can actually have 2 of the same rares up with good RNG.

Okay so at 3:20pm EST on Sargeras, Golganarr spawned after we had spent 30 mins just killing rock giants. I have no idea if this was the trigger or just lucky timing.

NOT related to killing giants.

Me and my friend farmed them for hours without anything.

The next morning it spawned randomly without anyone killing any giants or instead of any 1 of the 3.

I just has really really long spawn timer compared to the rest of the rares.

Edit: just saw him spawning on the same day 10 hours after the first spawn. It will suggest the spawn timer is around 12 hours.

No giants need to be killed. Random spawn timer.

Talking with other on my realm, his time of spawn went from anywhere from 14-26 hours. Once to maybe twice a day.

I got him 19th Sept at 11:06am.PST From asking around he hasn't appeared since and it's 21 Sept now. This guy has an insane respawn timer.. Good luck (Shandris Realm) btw

I just soloed this guy over a 22-minute fight with my warlock (destruction). Since I was as far away from his as possible he actually never threw boulders, except when I spawned my doom guard (who stood several feet closer than me). My voidwalker also never took any damage since all his attacks are AoE and I had specced soul-link.
Dropped an ordinary BoA plate belt and ~1600 coins, so all in all, not worth standing around that long for.

I can confirm Golganarr is NOT on a 24hr spawn timer but more random than that.

got a spawn within 26hrs, then 12hrs, 28hr, then 10 hrs.

trying to camp this rare so far for me has been worse then sitting for TLPD. also, blizz is having connection issues and my account was DC'd and he spawned. I have been cussing blizz for a week over this rare, and still will.

I play on a dead realm mostly during off-hours so getting a group together for a rare kill is virtually impossible. Much to my surprise he isn't any harder to kill than the Eroded Cliffdweller. Just takes a lot longer. If you're alone, stay within range of him, right between the Gulp Frogs and the Cliffdwellers and rotate around him anti-clockwise. It's easy but it takes a long time.

Respawn can definitely be as low as 2 hours. It was 11:30 AM the first time I killed him, and he respawned at 1:45 PM. Of course those were the only two times I've actually seen him.

Adding to the list of spawn times. I would have kept it under an existing comment if one post had multiple listings. He spawned at 2:38 PM server time on Area 52 after the addon rarecoordinator had him listed at last spawn time was over 605+/- minutes before that.

he spawned last night on Stormrage at about 11pm EST then again this morning about 11 am EST. Seems as though hes now on a 12 hour timer. Waiting to verify as of yet.

I will probably @#$% up some theories, but I experienced a 4 hours respawn time.
He spawned on Ysondre-EU like 4 days ago at 1:00 am then again at 5:00 am.

I was very surprised since I knew by the comments it was bloody rare and he had a very long respawn timer. Didn't see him again yet - even though I'm always on the isle and that I have a huge login time since a few days.

Golgannar hates me, I saw him on my ret pally main on alliance whisperwind who had killed EVERY OTHER timeless isle rare.
but died right before i got to tag him

finally killed him..
on my boosted gobbo hunter on turalyon
which means if i want the achievement, i have to rekill EVERY OTHER RARE all over again on my hunter

Long story short, Blizz really should make the criteria for the kill all timeless isle rares account wide, or up golgs respawn time, or make him not required for the cheevo

I may be wrong, but one way he spawns is killing eroded cliff dwellers and Golganarr might have a chance to spawn.

He likes to throw a couple boulders early in the fight, and will always target ranged. They explode in the air before they even hit the ground so don't try to finesse it, just run as soon as his cast-bar says "boulder". If he hits you with one, guess what, he likes to throw another to finish you off right away. If, say he throws two that get you down to 5% health, noooo, you aren't safe, he'll throw a third right away. Yes, three boulders in a row. Not a bug! Try fighting by a crystal to heal up.

Also, reading these comments makes me wonder. What if he pops up after you've killed a lot of the big nasties? Not in place of one, but as an added one? You'd have to farm a ton to get him to pop.

I only say this because he doesn't have a unique model like Evermaw. And... even though I've read that rares like monstrous spineclaw spawn in PLACE of a killed spineclaw, there is no way you can actually prove that. I farmed spineclaws for 6 hours and the big guy finally spawned, I think it was just based on a % roll, so the more leaf sprites you kill, the better chances leafmender pops, the more cows you kill, the better chance Jakur pops, the more turtles you kill, the better chance Chelon pops.

I don't think Golganarr is on a timer is all I'm saying, and he doesn't spawn in place of a killed nasty. You just have to kill, A LOT of them, and cross your fingers.

Boulder has about a 30 yard range. As any pet class this fight is a complete joke. Stand at max distance and just nuke him. It really doesn't get any easier.

My Experience on Draenor:

I can surely confirm that the Re-spawn timer is RANDOM .. I got him down at around 2:25 pm server time .. I was here camping the same timing yesterday with no hope at all. Others said they killed him around 1:00 pm two days ago. So yes! it is Random or probably aroundish the timing I have mentioned.

He has the same mechanics as the regular stone giants throws boulders enrages etc. If you stay right on his circle and move when he goes to kick you and move out of it he wont every hit you. Also he wont throw a boulder at you either when you enter his circle. I soloed this on test server and using a simple walk in walk out nuke away etc i was able to kill him easily, further you move away from him more likely you will get waste by boulders and of course tigers.

I've been realm jumping for days now via the LFG system, Golganarr is the last rare I need for the Timeless Champion achievement, am I the only one that can't find him?

Golganarr is absolutely still spawning, WOD didn't alter the Timeless Isle much. It is, so to speak, still frozen in time ;)

However, most people don't realize just how long the respawn timer is, and that combined with the fact that he effectively announces and immediately dooms himself with a zone-wide "I have spawned! Come kill me now!" yell guarantees that he will remain hard to find if you're just stopping by.

From camping other rares on the isle I can assure you that he will usually spawn 1-3 times a day. Patience is, therefore, a necessity should you wish to find him alive.

Can also confirm this rare still spawns in 6.2. Took me a very long time, but eventually I found him by realm-hopping at 5 am on Sunday. Still has 6M health, so be prepared for a long fight.

Updates as of 5/2/2016.

I've been alt-tabbing while working at home over the past several days waiting for Golganarr to spawn, but he hasn't appeared yet. I can't be at my computer 24/7, but I've spent a considerable amount of time listening while I work during intervals in the morning, afternoon, evening, and late into the night on various days. Solid stretches of 4-6 hours, too. I guess it's just pure bad luck at this point and that he must have appeared (and died) during those hours I couldn't' be around.

I can confirm that this is the worst camp I've ever done in this game. I have no problem with grinds, but camping is something else entirely. I never saw Golganarr back when Mists was current content, either, even though I spent a lot of time on the Timeless Isle. I decided to go back and work on some achievements as of late, aiming to complete this last rare in Pandaria to complete the "Timeless Champion" achievement, figuring it would be easier now, but it definitely isn't.

I've seen Bufo spawn dozens of times, but that's about it. He actually just spawned again right when I made this post.

The droprate of Glinting Pile of Stone and the Oddly polished stone must have been bumped up, I got both from just 4 kills last night (from eroded cliffdweller, NOT the rare Golgalnarr)

Just to let people know Golganarr still spawns.

I have be chasing him for a long time and today i finely got him. So i final got the Timeless Champion complete.

Because of this guys Timeless champion achievement should be feat of strength. I still have to kill him for this achievement and it's almost 2017 ... and i was pretty active in Pandaria.

After years of camping Golganarr off and on, he finally spawned for me. I can confirm he still spawns in Legion. It was at 2:09 pm server time on the US realm Madoran. That was all I needed for the Timeless Champion achievement.

He had 6.2 million hp and I fortunately was the first one there. He was dead in less than 15 seconds once I engaged.

Despite all comments stating that he has a very long respawntimer, he did respawn only TWO hours after he was killed on my realm. Means that his spawntimer is VERY variable.
first kill: 11:12am 02/28/17, respawn: 1:22pm 02/28/17

As of Patch 7.3, I can 100% confirm that the spawn timer has been reduced significantly.

I killed it 3 times just now with a respawn of 21min the 1st time and 24min the 2nd time.

Ok update then. It does seem Golganarr was heavily nerfed then. I camped for about 1 hour; Before I started I asked in general chat if any had killed him, a priest said "yes just now", and then I had the kill soon after. So if you need the toy or the kill tag for achievement....:) This is Legion just before 2018.

Was doing the Timeless Champion achievement today, here are my notes on the spawn timer I experienced:

Server: Proudmoore - NA
Patch: 8.3.7 (BFA)

6:22pm MST - spawn announcement
6:23pm MST - died (before I could get there to tag, of course)
7:45pm MST - spawned and died.

I am able to confirm the spawn timer was exactly 1 hour 23 minutes. I saw one of the more recent comments mention an experience similar to mine, and I agree that the amount of people on the island may have an impact on the respawn timer, as I waited way longer than 30 minutes. Just be aware of this if you are going to camp him!

For Going To Need A Bigger Bag, instead of farming the rare Golganarr, I can confirm that Glinting Pile of Stone does drop from Eroded Cliffdweller.
