Drake crests drop from Emerald Bounties; however it seems there may be diminishing returns. I haven’t hit the weekly cap yet, but I stopped getting them from bounties today.

It may be a x per day limit? I’ll try again tomorrow. And edit/update.

Edit 7 : Final: So I think its something to do with the color of bean. Each bean has a number its allowed to give per day. I think i was doing mostly blues earlier, and a purple and green just gave me more, but a blue gave me just rep. So each bean color has a limit. when they stop giving them, stop doing that color (unless you're rep farming)

Tooltip says Season Maximum 90... which is probably wrong... I think they mean Week Maximum. I guess we'll figure it out next week.

I seem to be at the cap already for this item :/ as a fairly new player returning to 'top content' I can't seem to earn anymore. Due to the maximum in a season to be '90'.

How long is a season? why even put a cap on it anyway

What you can do with these

You can use Drake's Dreaming Crest and Whelpling's Dreaming Crests to upgrade your gear, or:

Sell 15 Drake's Dreaming Crest at Vaskarn to buy Pouch of Whelpling's Dreaming Crests which contains 15 Whelpling's Dreaming Crests

Sell 30 Whelpling's Dreaming Crests at Andoris to buy Nascent Whelpling's Dreaming Crest.
Use 1 Nascent Whelpling's Dreaming Crest for an enchantment recipe to create Enchanted Whelpling's Dreaming Crest ("Set Item Level based on Crafting Quality (434-447)").

Maybe I'm dumb, but that're all uses I could find for these kind of crests - did I miss some?

Putting a cap on these sort of things is just dumb. Do Blizz want people to slowly lose interest?

I've heard from multiple people that you can eventueally turn lesser crests into higher ones (of course in ratio)
it should be tired to your ilvl in every slot, but I can't figured out where

Why on earth do PVPers now have to PVE to upgrade thier gear?, what is the point of random BG's now.... totally waste of time changing a system that worked and encouraged people to play random BGs!

Max out the Great Vault. Doing this you can get 45 Wyrm's Dreaming Crests without having to PvE. 3 upgrades per week with this method.

Well, I would share that in collecting the Drake's Dreaming Crests, earning 2 at a time in planting and watering with the Emerald Dewdrops, growing the dreamseeds which ever color you choose - it is a lot of work and a lot of resources and a great deal of grinding time. I think that after watching other players and experiencing this in the Emerald Dream zone for myself, I would offer some suggestions for any who wish to try and farm these crests for upgrades or trade-ups for the Wyrm's crests.

My goal as a soloist (I don't do dungeons, raids, or group content) is high-end crafted gear or upgrading the world boss drops (for example, the "Champion" version of S3 gear dropped by the world boss "Aurostor" in the Hibernating Heroes weekly kill) to go beyond my average item level of 463. We all receive an "Enchanted Wrym's Dreaming Crest" for crafting as a reward for reaching level 20 with the Dream Wardens. You can buy the necessary reagents, Nascent Wrym's Dreaming Crest for 45 Wyrm's Dreaming Crests (and an Enchanter can change this into the needed infusion of power: Enchanted Wyrm's Dreaming Crest) that can be used in crafting (or re-crafting) from item level 463 to 476 gear.

This is as I said earlier, a great deal of work in collecting crests. It just so happened that I had over 900 whelp's crests which became drake's crests after trade-ups then those I traded up again from drake's to wyrm's. I ended up with enough to buy 3 satchels of 15, earning me the needed 45 Wrym's Crests. The trades are done with the vendor: Vaskarn, the Dreaming Crest Exchange vendor in the Central Encampment in the Emerald Dream zone. Note: if you have lots of unspent "Dreamsurge Cocoon" tokens, you can trade these in to Archdruid Hamuul Runetotem for the "Whelping's Bountiful Chest" which gives 15 Whelp's Dreaming Crests. You can only have one of these Chests at a time in your bags, so it is a tedious effort but worth it if you have a dozen sitting in your bank like I did.

To buy the Nascent Wrym's Dreaming Crest reagent, you talk with Andoris, the Enchanting Supplies vendor in front of the Enchanter's crafting area in the Artisan's Market in Valdrakken. My main's professions, enchanter and tailor could do this needed infusion spell and re-craft her own cloth gear items, upgrading from the current 463 to 476 on the pieces she made herself. This power infusion can also be put in as a crafting order to an alt (or one of your guild mates or a friend) that can re-craft other items I can't make such as the Primal Molten Spellblade I had commissioned, or either of my trinkets my that my JC alt and Inscription alt crafted.

Purchasing the Nascent Wyrm's Dreaming Crest reagent, is a lot of collecting. Doing the math, going from Drake's Dreaming Crests in order to upgrade them to the Wyrm's Dreaming Crests, a 6 to 1 ratio, in a bundle of 15, so you need 90 Drake's to upgrade to a satchel of 15 Wyrm's. that is 90 x 3 or 270 Drake's, if you were to get 2 per dreamseed you plant or help plant and water, then that is at least 136 plantings, but you do receive Drake's Crests in the loot rewards for doing the 3 weekly zone quests, A Worthy Ally: Dream Wardens, The Superbloom and the Blooming Dreamseeds - planting 5 dreamseeds in the zone. You also receive a bundle of 10 of the Whelp's crests as rewards for the Loamm Niffen in their loot bag for their weekly rep reward, these can be added to your trade ups to become Drakes.

The one thing that makes this happen the the tiny little Emerald Dewdrop. These as hard to earn. You receive 50 each Superbloom in the first green loot bag you get after earning about 2500-2600 bloom points and you get 1-2 squishing bugs in planting a dream seed and running about pulling weeds, (those give 4 dewdrops) and hacking up the lashers is another 4. The toll climbs as you see the grind that has to be put into this. I watched a number of players hovering above the Superbloom players who on the ground were defending Sprucecrown, watering flowers, pulling weeds, batteling the evil minions of the Primalists, etcetera, and wondered why they don't help. Apparently, just being in the area of Sprucecrown, you receive dewdrops and the satchels: green, blue and purple as they are earned. This methods does not help the players fighting to earn their weekly rewards any quicker, but it shows that earning the dewdrops, which are essential for planting and growing the dreamseeds to earn your Drake's Crests, can be acquired this way as well. Some players have mentioned that all you need to do is water until you have 50% from contributing dewdrops and you're okay, this is not true, 65 would be better, but here is what I noticed, the more "dreamseeds" contributed to the soil is what helps earn the Drake's crests with a smaller Dewdrop contribution %. I have received the Drake's crests with less than 50 on the count, what it was is that a large number of players added seeds, you can only add one per player, but if there are 8 players, then there is your answer or a reasonable estimation of the formula put into the loot earned.

Since 5 Emerald Dewdrops are needed for one point on watering your dreamseed you planted (or another player's plant that you happened upon and are helping out with) then you see that the water is the most significant part of getting your Drake's Crests if you are farming them by planting. That being pointed out now, if it is just yourself working away at it, then you have to get to about 50 on your plant's water, 50 x 5 = 250 dewdrops, you are in a very dry world now looking for moisture everywhere to earn your 2 Drake's crests, because if you want to push that to its limit, 136 plants x 250 Emerald dewdrops = 34,000 Dewdrops, and at 4 per pulling a weed or killing a lasher, then that is about 8,500 pulling and hacking actions. lots of work.

The bright side is that everybody wants the same thing: upgrades, either for world drop gear or their dungeon/raid gear, they all use the same currency, so lots of players helping to plant, water, and participate in the Superblooms, and the Emerald %^&*zies that happen throughout the day will help you earn your lot in these needed tokens.
